Registration has now officially closed for the buildingSMART Awards 2018. The buildingSMART Awards is part of the International Standards Summit, held in Tokyo between 16-19 October 2018. This year sees a record number of submissions, comprising a total of 85 from 20 different countries. These projects will be shortlisted by an independent set of jurors covering different domains at the prestigious awards ceremony in October.
The criteria required for organizations included demonstrating deployment of one or more of buildingSMART’s tools or standards. Finalists will be judged on how effective or how innovatively they have been used to overcome interoperability challenges. The award categories span Design, Construction, Operations and Maintenance and Student Research.
Susan Keenliside, Awards Project Manager, expressed her delight with the number of submissions which “reinforces and reflects the breadth and depth of buildingSMART tools actively used in projects”.
The international summit will bring together experts from around the world to improve the development of open digital standards for the design, build and management of assets in the built environment.
